2002 "Justive for all Town Hall meeting (video)
In September 2002, one year after the 9/11 attacks, OneAmerica (then called Hate Free Zone) organized a broad coalition of Muslims, Somalis, Sikhs, and more, to testify before a panel of elected officials about mistreatment and discrimination they encountered since the attacks. Over 1,000 community members came to Town Hall in Seattle to listen to them.

After the arrest of a 19-year old Somali man in Portland, Oregon, Somali community leaders in Seattle predicted higher rates of harassment.
