What is our mission?
To enhance the well-being of Somalis throughout King County, empower families and individuals, and preserve the community's rich cultural heritage.
What does the Somali Community Services Coalition do?
Somali Community Services Coalition offers a wide range of programs and services for our clients, including job assistance services, interpretation services, mediation, as well as immigration services
and legal and medical referrals. We also have educational programing supported by a dedicated team of volunteers. During the school year, we hold an after-school tutoring program to assist East
African students in the Tukwila School District. During the summer months, we combat summer learning loss with our free Summer Adventures Program for elementary school youth. In 2012, SCSC will begin hosting
Somali language classes to help teach our youth basic literacy skills while allowing for creative self-expression of identity and cultural appreciation. In early 2012, SCSC will also kick off an East African youth leadership program and ESL conversation groups for adults.
